Rotary Piling Rigs FAQ

What is a rotary piling rig and how does it work?
A rotary piling rig is used to install large diameter bored piles by drilling into the ground using a rotating tool such as a Kelly bar or auger. The process removes soil to create a bore, which is then filled with concrete and reinforcement to form a structural foundation.
What types of projects are rotary piling rigs used for?
Rotary piling rigs are typically used on major infrastructure, commercial and civil engineering projects requiring large diameter or deep foundations, including bridge works, high-rise construction and retaining structures.
What pile diameters and depths can your rotary rigs achieve?
Our rotary piling rigs can install bored piles up to approximately 1900 mm diameter and depths of up to 42 metres, depending on ground conditions and configuration.
Do you offer rotary piling rigs for restricted or low headroom sites?
Yes, we have compact bored piling rigs that can operate in low headroom environments and restricted access sites, making them suitable for basements and constrained urban projects.
Do you supply operators with your rotary piling rigs?
Yes, all of our rotary piling rigs are available with experienced, directly employed operators, ensuring safe and efficient installation on complex foundation projects.
What additional equipment can be supplied with rotary piling rigs?
We can supply a full range of complementary equipment, including segmental casings, drilling tools, tremie systems and service cranes, allowing us to provide a complete bored piling package.
