Giken ECO700S silent piler in a tight spot in Bayonne, France
We recently completed a successful rental project in Bayonne, France where a Giken ECO700S silent piler was required to work within very close proximity of the existing walls of a school. The U profile sheet piles ranged from 10-14 m long and were being installed as part of a flood alleviation scheme. As you can see from the photo below there wasn't much room for error but our operator managed very well.
The machine was rented through our French dealer Pajot SA
King Piling choose Giken for silent piling
Following their experience of renting a Giken ECO700S Super Crush Piler from us at their project at Vaizey's Wharf in London, King Piling have invested in a brand new Giken ECO700 silent piler suitable for installing Z profile sheet piles up to 700 mm wide and U profile sheet piles up to 750 mm wide.
The machine was also supplied with a Giken JR22 super jet reel and Giken PJ3 crawler mounted water jet pump which is powered by the power pack of the silent piler, saving fuel and operator costs.
Pictured here on its first job in Lincolnshire pressing 14 m long Z profile piles 700 mm wide for a flood alleviation scheme, the machine performed very well and the job was completed to the clients satisfaction.

Restricted Access Sheet Piling in Middlewich, Cheshire
One of our RTG RG16T telescopic leader rigs has just finished installing 100 linear metres of sheet piling on a site for a new Morrison Store in Middlewich, Cheshire for sheet piling specialists DWM.
The machine had to work within the confines of an existing building, and was able to do so as can be seen in the photograph.
The sheet pile retaining wall was installed utilising 5.5 m - 8.5 m long L602 sheet piles through medium dense sands, with a 105 tons resonance free variable moment vibrator.
Giken Super Crush Silent Piler System and Crawler Crane on hire to King Piling in London
Specialist sheet piling contractor King Piling recently hired from us a Giken ECO700S Super Crush silent piling system to install up to 14.5 m long AZ37-700 single sheet piles through dense gravels and Thanet sands on a very restricted access site along the River Thames in London for the Environment Agency.
Access to the site was very difficult but we suceeded to mobilise one of our 80 tons capacity IHI DCH800 crawler cranes to service the silent piler. The crane was offloaded and rigged in the road at night time and then used to offload all of the delivery lorries and assemble the silent piler.
The patented Giken Super Crush system utilises an auger and casing within the sheet pile to simultanteously auger and press the sheet pile to depth. This system enables sheet piling to be carried out in soil conditions such as these river terrace gravels and Thanet sands where normal pile pressing would not be possible.
The job was carried out to the full satisfaction of the client within the anticipated timescale.
Update! Ivor King were so impressed with the Giken ECO700S, they decided to buy one!

Telescopic crawler crane on hire erecting wind turbine in Stratford upon Avon
AGD were recently called upon to assist with lifting a wind turbine into place on some agricultural land at Snitterfield, Warwickshire, just 2 miles from our Stratford upon Avon facility. The contractor involved wanted a contract lift so we carried out the job through Bromsgrove Crane Hire who were able to supply the necessary Appointed Person, Banksman and insurance.
After a site visit by our Technical Manager Bob Rosindale. the 9 tons capacity Hitachi ZX180LCT telescopic crawler crane was selected as being the ideal machine for the job, owing to it's 13 m long boom and low ground bearing pressure, as the crane had to travel through a field to gain access.
