Marchetti Sherpa Telescopic Crawler Crane at work on the A14/A1 upgrade
Our famous pink crawler crane has been busy once again earning money for Cancer Research working as a service crane for a large diameter bored piling rig. The machine is photographed here on hire to specialist piling contractor Foundation Piling Ltd handling a vibrator to install and extract temporary casings, lifting reinforcement cages and to carry out other general lifting duties around site.
The 70 tons Marchetti Sherpa telescopic crawler crane was chosen for its quick set up times and small footprint along with the ability to retract the boom quickly and easily on the site which is right alongside the existing live dual carriageway.
Affectionately known as the "Pink Panther" this crane is proving to be popular wherever she goes.
Sennebogen 680HD lattice boom crawler crane on hire in London
One of our Sennebogen 680HD 80 tons lattice boom crawler cranes on hire to H Smith Engineers lifting printing presses out of an old print works at Surrey Quays, London. The building is full of them, this one weighs 16 tons.

Marchetti Sherpa in a tight spot in Sheffield
AGD were recently called in to provide a lifting solution in Sheffield, South Yorkshire for local construction fiim Bowmer & Kirkland.
As you can see from the photos the crane had to be sited between two structures. The 70 tons Marchetti Sherpa telescopic crawler crane was able to carry out the job in this restricted space thanks to its ability to work with its outriggers in the half way position together with its incredible 14.5 m long with 40 degree offset fly jib and 40 m telescopic boom.

Marchetti Sherpina at BBC Television Centre
One of our 25 tons capacity Marchetti Sherpina telescopic crawler cranes has recently been busy at work erecting steel on hire to Maylim at the BBC Television Centre at Shepherds Bush, west London.
The older generation among us will remember this building as being synonymous with such TV programmes as Watch with Mother and Blue Peter! Nice for AGD to be part of this history.
Network Rail impressed by the peformance of our Giken silent pilers in Buckinghamshire
AGD recently supplied on hire 2 units Giken F201 silent pilers with factory trained operators to JN Piling to install 6 m long U profile sheet piles on an embankment alongside the Chiltern railway line, near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire.
The machines were serviced by Movax side grip vibros mounted on excavators also supplied by ourselves for pitching duties. Network Rail were particularly impressed with the performance of the Giken silent pilers as opined in this article featured in the Construction Index.
AGD flies yet again! Sennebogen 643R lifted onto a barge in Plymouth
One of our Sennebogen 643R 40 tons telescopic crawler cranes pictured here being lifted onto a barge for specialist marine contractor Land & Water in Plymouth, Devon. The machine was chosen for it's relatively light weight compared to it's lifting capacity and will be on site on hire with experienced oeprator for approx 6 weeks.
Giken F301 super crush piler at work in France
Giken F301 super crush piler recently sold to Ivor King Piling at work installing 12.5 m long PU28 sheet piles in Lyon, France through dense sands.
The piles are being installed to protect a 150 year old wall that prevents the river from flooding, and most of the operation will be carried out from pontoons. The decking supplied with the Giken makes this possible without the need for expensive temporary works. The machine is working 2 shifts per day in order to complete the work as quickly as possible.
AGD are Giken distribrutors for the majority of Europe and conduct business in France through their dealer Pajot who are specialists in the sheet piling market.
AGD donates £50,000 to Cancer Research
Our famous pink Marchetti Sherpa 70 tons telescopic crawler crane has now raised an amazing £50,000 for the charity Cancer Research.
The machine is pictured here on hire to infrastructure civil engineering specialists Murphy Group assisting with a landslip recovery alongside the Chiltern Railway Line in Leamington Spa, Warwickshire close to our head office at Stratford upon Avon.
We chose to paint the crane pink in memory of one of our founder members and 10% of its income is donated to the charity each year.

Pictured here is one of our brand new RTG RG21T telescopic leader rigs on hire to CMP-Barker installing pairs of up to 9 m long Z piles on the beach at Withernsea. The powerful 150 tons resonance free variable moment vibro was able to install the piles to level through stiff clays without the need for pre-augering.
